Swimming Pools
As Velez is so close to the beach there aren’t a great deal of public outdoor pools in the area. However, if you’re looking for lanes, lessons or weekend swimming with the children then the indoor pool sports complex listed below should suit your needs.

Tennis & Padel Courts
‘Tennis’ is self-explanatory, but you may well be new to the popular Spanish sport of ‘padel’. We won’t go into detail here but think of it as a mix between tennis and squash played with a thicker version of a beach tennis racket (it makes a lot more sense when you start to play). Football Pitches
As you can imagine, football is the most popular sport in Spain and as a result there are all kinds of facilities to allow you to organise a match whenever you feel like. There are pitches ranging from artificial five-a-side to full size grass. If you plan to join one of the numerous leagues here, then why not join in some training in Spanish tica-taca football (a style unique to this country) first?

Other Sports
It’s not all football, football, football in Spain. There are numerous other sports that the Spanish love. For instance, Spain is ranked second in the world at basketball. Handball is also enjoyed here. Cycling is hugely popular, as is golf due to the terrain and weather. If you feel like expanding your sporting horizons, Velez is where to do it.
